WE NEED OUR LAPTOPS NOW- AGGRIEVED TEACHERS BARE TEETH ON THE GOVERNMENT OVER FAILED 1 TEACHER 1 LAPTOP POLICY

Aggrieved Teachers on one teacher one Laptop (an instant association) that is formed to seek the laptops teachers were promised to be given is creating the awareness of the Ministry of Education and Ghana government over the delay in the policy that aimed at providing a laptop to every single teacher to facilitate teaching and learning.

Speaking to Mr. Effah Kwaku Tabiri, the Secretary to the Association in an interview, he noted that the initiative was never discussed with the teachers yet their monies were deducted for the laptop they never wanted adding that there were initially told that the total amount of the laptop was GHc 1,831.47 therefore the government is paying 70% for the teachers to pay 30%.

He stressed that GHc509 Or more was deducted from their professional development allowance in 2021. About two (2 years) and the majority of the teachers have still not received this laptop indicating that they have engaged the teacher unions who led this shoddy deal yet no headway and so they are signing this as a notification to the government of Ghana to honor its promise or face their wrath in the coming days.

Mr. Effah Tabri added that the 1teacher 1laptop policy is a medium for authorities to create, loot and share with most of the teachers not getting their and about 99% of the distributed ones developing series of faults and so when they are not given their laptops on time, they will take the matter to legal entity and demand refund of their monies with interest over breach of contract.
