Management of Ghana Education Service is trying all possibilities to bring it to normalcy, but truth be told it has not being an usual task to come by.

Basic schools have experienced a short terms and vacations this year, all these are strategies to bring the academic calender back to it normal position, likewise some tertiary institutions have also experience some short semester and breaks.

Currently, due to the ongoing West African Senior High Schools Examinations which began a week ago, tertiary institutions are in limbo, whether to wait for these candidates to join next admissions or to leave them behind, some continuing students in tertiary schools do not know when they are reporting back to school due to the revert pronounced by the Ministry of Education and some discrepancies it is facing.

Basics schools can resume this September or October because they are not awaiting for any group of students to join them.

Basic schools are surely reverting to the old system this coming September, this is a proposed and likely to happen academic calender for 2023-2024 academic.

2023/2024 ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR BASIC SCHOOLS (39 WEEKS)

FIRST TERM (13 WEEKS)

26TH SEPTEMBER, 2023 TO 21ST DECEMBER, 2023

SECOND TERM (14 WEEKS)

9TH JANUARY, 2024 TO 11TH APRIL , 2024

THIRD TERM (12 WEEKS)

7TH MAY TO 25TH JULY, 2024

While we await for management to release a new academic calender for school going students, all stakeholders, teachers and students must take note of the above calender which stands a higher probability of happening.
