Club Brugge wonderkid Charles De Ketelaere has admitted that he would probably sign for Chelsea should they attempt to sign him.
De Ketelaere has played 98 times for Brugge, picking up 17 assists for the Belgian giants, while also scoring 10 goals in his 27 appearances so far this term.
Former player turned scout Paul Courant has recently said that the talented 20-year-old would fit perfectly into Chelsea’s system under Thomas Tuchel.
‘I’m going to tell you [how high he rates De Ketelaere] right away; very high. Put Charles at Chelsea tomorrow and he will play immediately. Especially, under that trainer [Tuchel] – I know that club and the vision of their coach a little bit,’ he said.
‘Charles no longer needs a refresher course. He is already a modern footballer – physically, technically and mentally.’
‘The next step for Charles should be as high as possible. He does not first have to pass a few smaller European clubs. Just because everything is already very well put together with him.
‘You know, if Charles would have grown up in Munich, he would now be playing for Bayern. I may be very euphoric, but it is true. I’m glad there’s someone like that walking around in Belgium.’
In response to Courant’s recent comments, De Ketelaere told Het Laatste Nieuws: ‘In soccer, you have to listen to everyone.
‘That’s what I’m going to do, too, if I have to make a choice. If tomorrow an absolute top club wants me, I might decide to sign there.’
‘Everything is possible. I’ll just let it come to me. Because I don’t live in the future, I live in the now.
